STOP Worrying !

 

 If you spend more time worrying than working,

learn to curb the worry habit . . .  

 

"Worry is like a rocking chair. It rocks and rocks and gets us nowhere."


So why do we do it? What perpetuates and even escalates this habit?
Do you even worry about how much you worry? How much is too much?
Is it possible to worry yourself sick?
How do we prevent it from running our life? Or giving us anxiety?

This evening workshop provides information about worrying, and teaches practical strategies that curb worry and decrease its negative impact on mood and performance.

 

YOU WILL LEARN :

  • the 2 approaches proven to decrease worrying
  • key characteristics of worry
  • shifting from destructive / unproductive worry to more constructive worry
  • 5 pitfalls that perpetuate worry and make it difficult to break out of worry spirals
  • brain training exercises and a variety of other techniques to curb worrying
  • tips for bedtime worriers

This two hour educational, skills-oriented workshop meets on

Wednesday, OCTOBER 25, 2017

from 7:00 - 9:00 pm

in Room 335 University Centre, University of Guelph   (find this location...)

 

A minimum of 6 people is required for this session.

 

 

FEES :

  • $ 5 for University of Guelph students   (due to a subsidy from U of G Student Health Services)
  • $ 10 for members of United Steelworkers Local 4120   (due to a subsidy from Local 4120)
  • $ 20 for all others

Payment is by cash or cheque.

Gift certificates are available.

  • in advance - Complete a registration form and mail or e-mail it to reserve your spot in the workshop.
  • in person - Space permitting, it is also possible to register and pay in person at the session by arriving 15 minutes early.

    The STOP Worrying workshop, or selected topics from this workshop, can be provided on-site at your workplace or community group site.   A 30-60 minute Lunch & Learn session can also be provided.  Call the Stress Management and High Performance Clinic at 519 824-4120, ext. 52662 to make arrangements for sessions at your location. 
  • Make an appointment for private training :
    Any of the STOP Worrying topics listed above can be provided in private, one-to-one training sessions. Daytime, late afternoon, and evening times are available on weekdays throughout the year.
